Marion Mile Results

The fourth Marion Mile took place on August 29 at the Town Park. The new course was greeted with enthusiasm by the 73 runners who took part in the race this year. They raised a total of $129 for the Marion Food Pantry, plus many canned goods.

This year the race featured a wide variety of ages among the participants, from 6 all the way up to 69. The overall winner of the race was Mark Hussey, of Marion, with a time of 5:19.

Winners in the categories are as follows:

Juniors: Tyler Lewis; Mitchell Salamone; Josh Bovet.

Scholastic boys: Mark Hussey; Rocco Ventura; Nate Hill.

Scholastic girls: Heather Ramford; Shari McKay; Kristina Lewis.

Adult men: William LeBron; Steve Mowers; David Varalli.

Adult women: Naomi Fisher; Janet Bristol; Julie Drake.

Masters men: Jeff Washburn; Roger Hansen; Terry Krocke.

Masters women: Hope Schul; Karen Halliley; Dawn Wilcox.

First place in each category received a Coca-Cola mug and 4 McDonald's certificates. Second place in each category received a Marion mug, and one McDonald's certificate. Third place in each category received a ribbon.
