THANKS ! to all who attended the family-style roast beef dinner at the American Legion Home last Friday. Hospitalized Veterans will benefit from the proceeds over the upcoming holidays.

Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County is sponsoring a bike-a-thon on Saturday, September 25. A 42-mile ride will begin at 9 from the parking lot at the First Baptist Church of Williamson, and a 15-mile ride will begin at 10:30.

The United Church will be holding their 7th annual Pig Roast with full menu, on September 25. Servings begin at 4:30 until it's all gone. This event is sponsored by the Missions Committee and proceeds will benefit the needy.

Congratulations! to James and Sarah Sewert-Dunn, who were married in the sanctuary of the United Church. They leave for Germany, where Airman Dunn is stationed, on Sept. 19. Sarah is Jack and Bunny Sewert's granddaughter. Her parents are Dave and Ann Sewert of Newark.

Thelma Phillips is residing at the Armstrong Senior Living home at 790 East Maple Ave. Newark. The Phillips home on South Main Street has been purchased by Bob and adwmr Ginger DeRoma.

The Marion Girls Varsity Soccer Team clinched third place in a Labor Day Soccer Tournament held at Alfred-Almond. On Thursday they lost to Mynderse with a score of 4-0 but came back on Saturday to defeat Oakfield-Alabama 5-0. Goals were made by Ellie Halstead, with 1, Morgan Jackson with 2, and Sarah Johnston with 2.

September 18, 19 are Palmyra Canaltown Days; Sept. 18 is the Pultneyville Community Garage Sale.

September 19 is the Mexican Fiesta at Sodus Primary School Route 88.

Budget vote and PTA meeting are Sept. 23.

The family night roller skating party will be this evening from 7-8:30 at the elementary school. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

SEPTEMBER 19, 1957: Stanley Bushart was elected Master of the Marion Grange at the September 16 meeting of the organization.

Happy 60th wedding anniversary wishes to Frank and Irene Buyck on September 14.
