Parochial school registering students

St. Michael School in Newark is taking registrations for new students in preschool to grade 8. Students entering kindergarten will be screened during May and June. Later kindergarten entrants will be screened as they apply.

Students entering in grades first through eighth will be screened in reading and math. Those entering kindergarten will be screened by the Gesell Assessment Program.

All parents and guardians will have an interview before their children are accepted.

St. Michael School is the only Catholic school in Wayne County. Recent national standardized testing ranked St. Michael students in grades 5-8 in the top 10% of schools in the United States.

More than 320 students in grades kindergarten to eighth grade come from Newark, Lyons, Clyde, Sodus, North Rose, Wolcott, Phelps, Clifton Springs, Williamson, Palmyra, Macedon, Marion, Ontario, Walworth and Port Gibson.
