Happenings Marion Vol. Ambulance thanks all the people who have given financial donations. With these contributions the Ambulance Corps purchased the new LifePak 12 Defibrilator. With continued support, they will be able to provide the highest level of care to the Marion residents. Chris and Ginny Christianson visited their grandson, Sean Christianson at Fort Knox on their return from Boca Raton, Florida. Sean is with the Army's 16th Armored Cavalry. The second and third grade classes at the Marion Elementary School thought of others during the holidays. The students did not exchange gifts in the classrooms during their parties. Instead, they donated the cost of a gift to the Marion Food Pantry and raised $142 to donate to the Food Pantry. This was in addition to any money they donated through the school wide Penny Fund. From April 10-28, the class of 2001 (Junior Class) will be conducting the magazine and newspaper sale campaign to help defray the costs of their senior year. These costs include their senior trip to Washington, the senior dinner dance, and the senior picnic on the last day of school. The class of 2001 will sell the usual large list of magazines, music tapes and CD's, and local newspapers. If you want a student to see you, and you are not contacted, please call 926.4228 and an advisor will see to it that a student comes to your home to take your order. The PTA Egg Hunt at the Elementary School gym is tomorrow, April 15 at 10 a.m. Spring Recess is April 17-21. APRIL 10, 1958: The third annual dance sponsored by the Marion Fire Department, Inc. will be held on Saturday, April 19 in the new firemen's building. Harold Quigley is planning the refreshments for the dance and the door prizes to be awarded. The 7-12 grade Marion band members have completed their fundraising for this school year. Both the citrus sale and the bowl-a-thon were successful thanks to parents and community members. I have had inquiries on how the bell fund is progressing...? Virginia VanderBrook is a patient at the Clifton Springs Hospital. Karen Hayden has returned home following a hospital stay. Palm Sunday Worship Service at the United Church will be held at 10 a.m. Family Style Roast Beef Supper at the American Legion Home, on Witherden Road is this eve. from 5:50-7:30. Even with the snow, the leeks are up behind the garage! There will be an EASTER BUFFET at the Legion Home on Saturday, April 22, from 8-11 a.m. Following the buffet there will be an Easter Egg Hunt at noon for kids ages 1-10. This is sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary and proceeds will go to the Veterans Memorial and the Canandaigua Hospital. 'If you talk when you're angry, you'll make the best speech you'll always regret.' The April 15 opening of the Marion Museum will have a display of HOMES. Hours are from 10-noon.
