Well, Spring is in the air (even though it has been a bit on the frigid side. Enough, already! The flowers peek up through the snow in confusion and our children can't believe they still have to wear a winter coat.)

I hope Bobby Hooper has a nice birthday, I know Michelle did. Becky Clark has a birthday on April 21 and Rachel White has one on April 22. Neither will be asking to drive the car this year, but it will be happening soon. Shawna Pike has been driving around Sodus. Have you seen her?

I got a note from Mary Beth Boudrez, formerly of Sodus Point, who is doing very well. She informed me the she will be graduating from Nazareth on May 12 of this year - complete with her NYS Teaching Certificate and B.A. in Social Science. Congratulations, Mary Beth!

The Support Group for spouses, children, and close friends of nursing home residents will meet at the Blossom View Nursing Home on Maple Avenue the 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 3:30 p.m. For more information, please call 483.9118 from 9 to 5.

bunny on egg The Make Today Count Cancer Action Support Group meet from 7-8:30 on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at the Father Cavanaugh Parish Center of the Church of the Epiphany on l05 W. Main Street in Sodus. Speaking of the Church of the Epiphany, I haven't heard from Anne Wilkin in a while. I'm sure the teen group has been busy.

On Saturday (April 15), you can have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Pultneyville Fire Hall from 9 a.m. to noon.

Also tomorrow, the L.W. Emporium in Ontario will be having their Easter Egg Hunt. (6355 Knickerbocker Rd. for ages 2 and up.) There will be thousands of eggs for the kids to look for. Be sure to look for the golden egg. For the time, and more information, call 315.524.8841 and check your local paper the time is to announced.

Diane Phillips will be leaving soon to spend time with her son in L.A. Maybe she'll bring back some warm sunshine when she returns. We could certainly use some.

Hopefully the weather will be nice for the kids' spring break. Keep your fingers crossed. If not, you can always curl up with a good book. Click here for some of our Easter favorites.

Before we know, it everyone will be riding bikes, going on picnics, building sand castles and looking for new bathing suits.

eggs in basket Another April birthday - when you're in the Sodus Library next Wednesday, remember to wish Carol Garland a Happy Birthday. It's the l9th. (Carol, did you say something about 30's?)

Speaking of the Sodus Library, next Thursday (day after Carol's Birthday) there will be one of the popular Books Sandwiched In presentations beginning at 11:30 a.m. For $2.50 you will get a sandwich or pita, a beverage and a piece of homemade pie. (On the topic of pie, it was brought to my attention that Mernie Rolston makes heavenly berry pies). The presentation will be by Shirley MacDonald. She will be sharing her travel adventures to Antarctica and New Zealand. Sounds like a nice afternoon.

You may want to celebrate Spring by getting your car washed. The Boy Scouts (Troop #111) will be having a Car Wash /Bottle Drive on Saturday, April 22 (weather permitting) at Paton's Super Duper parking lot. They are asking for donations or, if you drop off a bag full of nickel deposit containers, they will wash you car for FREE. It is being held from l0 a.m. to 3 p.m.

April 22 is also the date of the Easter Egg Hunt in Willow Park at Sodus Point. The fun begins at 11 a.m.

AND, April 22 is the date for a Turkey & Biscuit Dinner at the Pultneyville Lodge on Lake Rd. Dinners will be served 4:30 to 7 p.m.
