Did you know that Evergreen Street was once nicknamed, 'Pill Alley?' This was because there was a doctor living on both ends of the street, one being Dr. Daniel Richards on Union Street and the other Dr. Orrin Babcock, on the corner of Evergreen and North Main Street.

Pam Wolfanger has returned from a stay in England. She spent time with the Estochen family.

Pete Revard has returned home following shoulder surgery.

This evening, 8-11:30 p.m. - 'The Cross' at Shoeshine Johnny's at 34 Mill Street in Sodus. $4 admission includes cover donation for a night of great entertainment, dessert and unlimited access to the coffee and juice bar.

The Marion Junior Class Magazine Drive has been changed to April 28.

Ike and Nan DeWispelaere have returned to their Marion home after spending time in Florida.

The Walworth Historical Society is holding their 25th anniversary celebration on Sunday, May 7 at 1 p.m. Reservations deadline is April 25, to Mary Jane Devlin at 2447 Marion Road, Walworth 14568. $15 per person includes gratuity. The meeting and buffet dinner is being held at the Garlock House in Palmyra.

The Women's Guild Potluck Supper at the United Church was held on April 18.

REMEMBER: the Easter Breakfast Buffet at the Marion American Legion Home on Saturday, April 22 from 8-11 a.m. This will be followed by an Easter Egg Hunt, for ages 1 to 10 years, at 12 noon. Proceeds go to the Junior Auxiliary for the Veteran's Memorial and for the Canandaigua Veterans Hospital.

Closely connected with the increase in observances of Easter is the wide use of the Easter Lily as the principal church decoration. It took an imported flower, however, to promote widespread growth of the custom. Suitable lilies in the United States bloom in the early summer and must, therefore, be forced under hothouse conditions to flower earlier. But in the 1880's Mrs. Thomas P. Sargent became aquatinted with the Bermuda, or white trumpet, lily, a flower of great beauty which bloomed naturally in springtime. She brought its bulbs from Bermuda to Philadelphia where a nurseryman fostered its popularity among other florists.

Bottle drive is set for April 29, at the Elementary School to benefit girls basketball.

The American Red Cross visited Marion High School on April 11. between staff and students 49 pints of blood were collected. 'Thank you' donors, and volunteers who gave so generously to this most worthy cause.

Boys Track opened on April 13 at Wayne County Relays at Gananda. The team set three school records and won three races.

Paul Phelps came back from a set down to lead the tennis team to a 3-2 victory last night over North Rose-Wolcott. Other winners were Cory Starks at third singles and the second doubles team or Rob Wheeler and Zach Schlaefer.
