 The United Church Youth Group is collecting redeemable bottles and cans to help pay for expenses of those attending mission workcamp. Workcamp will take place this summer at Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota. Youths will arrange to pick up cans and bottles: call 926.5501.

'Be the change you want to see in the world.'

The junior class magazine sale started on April 28.

May 4 is the date of the sixth-grade Science Expedition, from 6:30-8 p.m.

The prom is set for May 6.

Paul, Jody and David Bender boarded the train in Rochester and went to New York City for shopping, sightseeing and the wedding of Richard and Pamela Becker.

April 29, 9-11 a.m. - join the folks at Scarlet Thread Student Center in Sodus, for discussion about teen violence and to seek real solutions to this sad and perplexing problem. Cost is $10 per person/family and includes breakfast of coffee, juice and donuts.

Parents of Junior Band members who will be going to Toronto should make calendars for May 4. Two meetings will be held: 2:30 in the auditorium, and 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Students and at least one parent need to attend one of the meetings.

Kids in Motion creative movement class visited Step Ahead Nursery School. The children enjoyed playing with a parachute and dancing to 'Blues Clues' music. Kids in Motion is registering now for a six-week summer session to be held at Marion Masonic Temple. Call Judy Casler at 926.0810.

The Walk for Health to help Clifton Springs Hospital is planned for May 20, along the canal, from Pal-Mac Medical Center in Macedon, to Palmyra and back. McDonald's is the walk sponsor. All monies raised will help the hospital. To register, call 462.0324. The walk will start at 8 a.m.

Pearl and Hank Ververs of the Marion Road returned from a three-week trip to Texas and Branson, Missouri. They just missed the tornado in Fort Worth. Their friends in Texas took them to San Antonio, where they visited the Alamo, River Walk, road a boat on the river, and took a trolley ride around the city. They went to Corpus Christi. In Port Aransas they took the ferry across the bay; they saw dolphins and pelicans. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in Branson - they also saw 22 shows!

The Girl Scouts and others delivered 120 Easter plants (hyacinths) to senior citizens, shut-ins, hospital patients and nursing homes residents. The plants were purchased from the Marion Community Christmas program funds.
