It was nice to visit Sodus and Wayne County again. While the dogs vacationed at the Dunn Travlin' Ranch, we were off to Toronto. Some people go South for spring break, we went North. We had a lot of fun and are still washing the chlorine out of our hair from being in the pool so many times. (When you travel with kids and there is an inside pool, I guess it's to be expected.) We visited the Science Museum and Casa Loma, just to mention two. We ate at one place in particular that was so magical - the Rainforest Cafe. If you like vines, waterfalls and a thunderstorm inside, you would love this place.

cold beach When we got back, we went to Sodus Point to visit the beach - it was cold but beautiful. The dogs were happy to finish their vacation (and very hoarse. They must have enjoyed themselves.)

painting by larry While we were in Sodus, we stopped in to visit the Kraft Shack and found this beautiful painting. Was this an example of the Painting by Larry class? Great job! The Kraft Shack is having a class called Gathering Girl and will take place on Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday May 3 at 6:30-9 p.m. On the girl, you will do some simple painting, make a new sew dress, decorate and fill her cloth made basket with goodies from the garden. $25 includes all.

On Thursday the 4th, you can learn how to make paper from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. $l8 for the class. And on Saturday, May 6 from l0 a.m. to l p.m., Oil Painting with Larry. $40 includes all. The Kraft Shack is going to be busy, and so are you.

The Youth Venture Group in Sodus has beenbusy as well. Diane Davis came and taught everyone to make puppets. Diane made some awesome puppets. The group also did a Community Service by picking up garbage around Sodus. They have had the Council of Drugs and Alcohol come in and tell the group about the effects of substances on the body. Grandpa's Farm Market donated several flowering bulbs for the group to plant at the center. Thank you to the people at Grandpa's. The Youth Venture Group isappreciative. They had their Easter Egg hunt and, on April 29, they will have their monthly dance. The Youth Venture Group is doing good things for the youth of the Community. Thanks to Alice Clark for keeping me informed.

Beginning May 2, you will be seeing a familiar (tanned) face around Newark and probably Sodus. Ralph Everdyke will be coming North from Florida to enjoy our Spring and Summer weather. (I have asked him to bring some warmer temperatures. The chilly temperatures we have had lately will have him bundling up in no time.)

sodus library Thanks to everyone who has written to keep me informed and to those I know will be writing soon:

Don't forget to stop by the library and pick up some great books. We stopped into the Williamson Library and just couldn't leave without taking some new books home. (Sorry, Carol - the Sodus Library wasn't open at the time.)
