Gordon Adriaansen is home from the Newark hospital, where he was treated for pneumonia.

Last week's column should have mentioned that at the luncheon at Ballesty's, 'John poured.'

Granddaughter Laurie and Dan Dougherty of Freyerburg, Maine accompanied by their dog, Queenie, visited with Ina Benton recently.

Ruth Vice's sister, Mike and Effie Smith from Florida, and her brother Frank Reed, visited Howard and Ruth recently. Ruth is recovering nicely following her heart surgery.

Congratulations to Steve and Deb Roegiers who were surprised with a 25th wedding anniversary party by their children, Chris and Becky, Tim and Brian.

A 40th anniversary party and picnic was held July 16 for Chuck and June VerPlank at their residence on Witherden Rd. They celebrated June's birthday. It was a beautiful day to enjoy outdoor activities. Attending were their children Susanne Milliman and girls Sarah and Heather; Charlie and Val VerPlank and children Lisa, Zac & Elizabeth; Phyllis & Dale Bliek and Christina, and Roger VerPlank.

Aug. 7, 1941: Members of the Girls 4-H Club who participated in the review at the Sodus Theater on Friday are: Patty White, Elizabeth White, Beatrice Mellema, Jane Lybert and Elizabeth VerPlank.

The high school music department held their fourth annual Music Awards Night on June 7. Students in grades 7-12 were recognized for their musical accomplishments.

Medals and certificates were presented to students who participated in the solo festivals, all-county band and chorus, and area all-state festivals. Alicia Weeks was recognized for her selection and participation in the 1999 Conference All-State Women's Chorus.

Special awards were presented for the following: Jr. Choir Achievement Award: Jeremy Hadley; Jr. Band Director's Award: Mary Anna Boerman; the Helen Fleegel Spirit Award: Lynn Graham; Louis Armstrong Jazz Award: Randy Miller; Left Foot Award: David Bender; John Philip Sousa Award: Merle Sailsbury; National Choral Award: Alicia Weeks.
