Marion Class of '45 holds reunion

The graduating class of 1945, from Marion Central High School, had their 55th reunion on July 22, at the Farm Restaurant in Farmington. A buffet banquet was enjoyed by 17 members, one advisor, spouses and friends.

Answering present to roll call were: Roger Adriaansen, Genevieve Petty Adriaansen, Roger Boise, Ralph Collier, Evely Heineman Bundy, Donald Hyman, Herbert Kennett, Arlene Moshier Van Haneghen, Gordon Morrison, Clara Mouton DeNearing, Elizabeth VanKouwenberg Everdyke, Lindy Van Kouwenberg, Eleanor Ver Plank Nevil, Allen Viele, Raymond Ward, Harry White, Victor Mason, and one of their advisors, Charlotte Mummery Ver Plank.

Letters were read from people who could not attend the reunion. They were: Lester Bliek, Helen Cook Rumsey, Winnie Farmborough Clarney, Helen Nasmith Shantz, Isaac Provo and from their other advisor, Joseph Coco and Grace.

Harry White presented a short program and most of the time was spent talking and reminiscing. Donald Hyman had pictures to show. He even had his 60-year-old Safety Patrol jacket, which still fit him.

The following day, a picnic was held at the home of Rog and Gen Adriaansen, which was a relaxed time of remembering old times and eating lots of good picnic food.

A reunion will be held in 2005.
