David Merges Interim Assistant Principal at Newark school

David Merges has been named the interim assistant principal of the Newark Middle School.

The one-year interim appointment, Aug. 28 to June 30, 2001, was approved by the Board of Education last Wednesday night. Merges replaces Sue Achille who was recently reassigned to the position of principal of Perkins School.

Having worked as a school psychologist with the Wayne-Finger Lakes Board of Cooperative Educational Services since 1993, Merges has also coordinated BOCES summer program this summer and last.

He earned his Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Administration this last year though SUNY Oswego.

Merges and his wife, Julie, a Newark High School math teacher, live in Canandaigua and have two sons.
