I think we've already had enough snow for one winter. (Ralph is just not sending the right amount of warm air in this direction.) Speaking of Ralph Everdyke, he mentioned that he and his wife were homesick for the wineries of the FingerLakes so they decided to visit a winery in Florida. It is just North of Clermont and is called Lake Ridge, the largest of the wineries in the area. (I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your day, Ralph. Are you homesick for snow? We have a bunch we could have trucked down to you.)

I have been told by a reliable source that someone with the dignified name of Melissa White won the Newark Turkey Race for Women. No, it wasn't me - I have enough trouble running to the store to pick up my turkey. Congratulations to the winner.

Carol Garland of the Sodus Library has informed me that $570.60 was made from the book sale they had recently - just short of tripling their best sale ever! Carol has been poring over catalogs for the computer chairs to go with the new computers they will be getting soon. As you may recall, the computers are via Bill Gates and his wife, Carol. (Does Mr. Gates make house calls to help set up? Wouldn't that be an interesting day at the Library? If he does show up, please let me know.)

There's a roast beef supper tonight at the Sodus Center Fire Hall, 5 p.m. until ?

tea set Tomorrow, Sat., Dec. 9, the Williamson High School will be hosting a Christmas Craft Show from 9 - 4.

Sodus Rotarians are collecting sweaters again to distribute to the needy. You can drop your clean, wearable sweater (adult or child size), at Lessord's or the Town Office.

The Sodus Town Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a House Decorating Contest. You can nominate a house by calling 483.7256, or you can e-mail: jhopkins@eznet.net

dog The Sodus PTSA will have its Christmas Concert Friday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Primary School cafeteria. Kids can shop at the Secret Santa Workshop from 5:50 to 8:30 p.m., and again Sat., Dec. 16 from 9 to noon.

Thank you to everyone who has again helped me this week by sending information to add to the column. Please let me know about your fun activities and I'll add them to the column. You can write to me at
