Holiday treat at Newark's Lincoln School

pen pals With wind and snow swirling outside, many of the senior citizens were warm and cozy inside Lincoln School Tuesday morning.

Much of the Village of Newark was disabled by a power outage, from 6:30-9:30 a.m. But on the north end, Lincoln School was warm and lighted, and a breakfast and show presented for the senior folks.

The spirit of the season took the stage as the little actors presented The Littlest Christmas Tree. It was directed by Rachel Muto. The chorus members are students in the classes of Miss Attwell, Mrs. Chambers, Mrs. Ford, Mrs. Schwab and Brann.


pen pals Erika Swan played the Littlest Christmas Tree, while Gregory Hughes had the role of Santa. Emily Lyman played Mrs. Claus. Other lead characters were Cassondria Sergent, Stephenie Premo, Landon Alvarado, Brandon Lacz, Lindsay Triplett, Briana Hall, Jenny Vega and Samantha Nassimos.

This musical was taped by Mike Diamond and will be shown on Dec. 24 at 2 p.m. on cable channel 12.
