At Newark's Park Church Park Presbyterian Church in Newark (Maple Court) will offer four services on December 24, each one with a different emphasis.The day begins with the 8 o'clock early service in the Chapel. The Rev. Timothy Johnson's message will be entitled 'Jesus Has Made a Difference.' The second service is at 10 o'clock in the Sanctuary. The DeWeaver family will light the fourth advent candle to begin the service. In place of the sermon, the Sunday School classes will re-enact the Nativity Story, under the direction of Sharon All. The first Christmas Eve service is at 5 o'clock and is centered around families and children. Young people of the congregation, under the guidance of Maria Walton, will provide music and readings. The service will conclude with everyone participating in candle lighting. The 11 p.m. Christmas Eve service concludes the day and ushers in Christmas Day with communion and special music by the adult choir, soloists Sarah Bald and Paul Walters, and organist Denise Morphy. Rev. Johnson's message will be 'Let the Light Shine.' The service will conclude with candle lighting and the carol Silent Night. Visitors are always welcome.
