Happenings You can contribute to the Marion High School Germany 2001 fundraiser by donating your bottle and can redemption at ALPCO Recycling Center on 31F in Macedon. Just mention 'Marion High School German Club' and ALPCO will credit the club account. DANKE SCHON! A special thank you from German Club for the support of recent fundraising activities. This fall students have generated close to $3000 profit for April's two-week trip to Germany and Austria. Twenty-six students in grades 10 and 11 will be involved in the special educational trip planned by Herr Stoker and Frau Thompson. 'What do you stand for? What do you want your children to tell their children about you?' Since there is no driveway to allow buses to get off the Marion North Main Street at the Marion Elementary School while loading and unloading students, NO TRAFFIC will be allowed between Union and Evergreen Streets during loading/unloading. Special thanks goes to Boy Scout Den 5 of Troop 137 for their generous donation of gifts for less fortunate children. Some of their packages went to a family who had lost everything in a recent fire. During December, the month of Joy and Mirth, Peace and Love, Mary Jo Bailey and her children, from Sodus, came a caroling to bring Christmas Joy to Ina Benton. They also recited the whole 'Story of Christmas' according to St. Luke, Chapter 3. Certainly a lovely bit of Christmas. JANUARY 6, 1944: Marion will start its drive next week to raise $2290. The quota set for the township in the Wayne County Campaign for the Nation War Fund for war charities. It was announced by Harold Bush, chairman. Dr. Elbis Shoales spent Christmas Day at the home of her daughter, Jennifer, husband Ed and their daughter Briana. Paul and Victoria Kearns and son Reilly are home for the holidays. They are staying in Newark with Victoria's family, Susan and Ed Phillips, and are visiting in Marion with family and friends. Bridget Mullin was home for the holidays after a tonsillectomy. Dorothy Ocque is home following a hospital stay. Ray Welch is nursing a sore hand while healing broken fingers. Bob Mullin, Sr. is recuperating at his North Main Street home. The Bell Choir at the Second Reformed Church was enjoyed by the members and guests on Christmas Eve morning service. This choir is under the able direction of Janette Nevlezer. Pastor Donald and Judy White and girls, spent Christmas with Judy's family in Philadelphia. Julia Wise-Reesor and Kyle Haak provided the Ministry of Music, at the Second Reformed Church, during the December 24 morning worship service. CONGRATULATIONS to Bill and Carrie Norberg on the birth of their son, James William, on December 11. He was welcomed home by his big sister, Hannah.
