Feadan Or, a Scottish Pipe Band, will perform February 13 at 4 p.m. at Park Presbyterian Church in Newark. Kevin Angus is their Pipe Major. Feadan Or performs a blend of traditional, contemporary and Celtic folk music. The name is Gaelic for "Chanters of Gold" and is pronounced "Fay-den Or." The group wears the MacMillan tartan - swaths of maroon and gold on fields of green. The band has competed in the Northeast and Canada and their many awards include first prize at the Central New York Scottish Games in both 1997 & 1998 and a finish as runnerup at the Northeastern United States Pipe Band Championships in Albany in 1998. They debuted in 1995 at the opening ceremonies of the Ryder Cup Matches at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester. This concert is first in the concert Series 2000, and starts the second full year of concerts at Park Church. Next will be the Spring Choir Concert, which has been a tradition at Park Church for ten years. There will be a free will offering at the concert given by Feadan Or on Sunday, February 13.
