Daffodil Days volunteers needed

daffodilThe American Cancer Society (ACS) needs volunteers to assist with Daffodil Days to support cancer research and patient services.

The American Cancer Society's 30th annual Daffodil Days will raise funds to support cancer research, educational programs and services for cancer survivors and their families March 20-24.

Last year, $210,000 was raised in the Finger Lakes region.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to pre-sell and deliver the flowers. Your American Cancer Society is looking for dedicated individuals to be a part of this year's Daffodil Days volunteer force.

Any amount of time or commitment local residents or groups could offer to assist in this year's Daffodil Days would be appreciated.

To volunteer or get more information on job descriptions, call your local American Cancer Society office at 716.288.1950 or toll free at 1.800.ACS.4844.

Freshly picked daffodils, the 'flower of hope,' will be pre-sold during February and March with deliveries scheduled for the week of March 20.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
