$42,000 state grant for Lyons Police

The Village of Lyons Police Department will receive a $42,200 state grant for its K-9 and bike patrol units, and crime prevention efforts.

In a statement from Senator Mike Nozzolio's office, Lyons Police Chief Steve VanDuyne is quoted:

"We are extremely appreciative of the dedicated support that Senator Nozzolio has provided to our Department and the Village of Lyons throughout the years and thank him for his continued commitment to our Department and our community."

The $42,200 in State funding was secured through the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant program administered by the Department of Criminal Justice Services.
