Bicentennial Farms in Palmyra, Marion

The New York State Agriculture Society awarded plaques to two Wayne County farms honoring them as 'Bicentennial Farms,' reports Dave Reville, Agriculture Program Leader for Wayne County, Cornell Cooperative Extension.

The farms are the 204-acre Goldsmith Farm in Palmyra, founded in 1792 and operated by George Goldsmith;

and the 160-acre Rich Farm in Marion, founded in 1795 and operated by the Harry Rich Family.

These farms are a milestone in the rich agricultural history of Wayne County.
