Sad to see another tree gone from South Main Street!

The 'Souper Bowl' event at the United Church enabled the Youth Group to Deliver $80 in cash, three boxes and seven full bags of food items to the Marion Food Pantry.

Thank you...for the efforts in obtaining a refrigerator for the Food Pantry.

Gertrude Collier has returned to her home following a stay with her daughter.

Congratulations to the recent spelling bee winners: Justin Krocke, David Graffeo, Nick Jackson, Paul Haas, Hannah Fessler, Korie Baker, Suzanna DeFisher and Hannah Lawliss. Next round of the bee was to be Feb. 18.

Work is now progressing on the Grange Building, which is to be the future home of the Marion Town Library.

School will be closed next week to celebrate the Presidents' birthdays.

Family Roller Skating party sponsored by the Marion PTA is Feb. 18 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Elementary School. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

An interesting bus trip is planned for Tuesday, March 28 by Virginia Lupold. You leave from Palmyra at 9:30 a.m. for Rochester to the IMAX Theater to see Disney's Fantasia, followed by a stop at the Doll House in Chili and ending with a delicious luncheon at the Crescent Beach Hotel. FEBRUARY BREAK - 'Leap Year 2000' youth night in the Education Building at the Second Reformed Church will be on Friday, February 25 from 7:30-10 p.m. For all students in grades 7-12.

February 19 at 7 p.m. ROOTS COFFEEHOUSE (32 Mill Street, Sodus) will be having Jim Drew, a Christian recording artist. Come and experience music, food, and Jesus. $4 at the door.

Come-Unity Center News: As you drive or walk by Common Cents Thrift Shoppe, in Williamson, in February, take a second to see who's waiting for you in the window.

Carrolls Creations on Main Street in Fairport, hand-made porcelain doll manufacturers, have generously donated eight Seymour Mann porcelain Victorian dolls for Come-Unity Center to use as a fund-raiser.

Beginning in February, the Center will display one doll every month in the window of Common Cents Thrift Shoppe, 4074 W. Main St., Williamson. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or six for $5 at both Common Cents and the Come-Unity Center, as well as by individuals. First Drawing is April 1.

Congratulations to Jon and Stacy VanCamp upon the birth of Peter Jon, on Feb. 7 at Rochester General. Peter weighed 10 lb., 23 1/4 inches long. Congratulations to grandparents, Carl and Elaine VanCamp and Mike and Nancy Cook.

Duane and Heather Smeatin brought twins Camryn Maye and Austin James, born July 29, 1999, to baptism at the United Church. The Smeatins are also the proud parents of Kendyl and Connor.

The book of Revelation says that those who die in the Lord 'rest from their labors, and their works follow them.' Ongoing works are celebrated:

* A new Communion Service, given in memory of Ann Cady
* 89 regular-print and 7 large-print Bibles given in memory of Bob and Gladys House
* 2 large-print Bibles given in memory of Lena Hotel
* Office furniture for the Pastor's study given in memory of Viola DeBack.

February 18, 1952: The seniors are planning a round and square dance in the gym on Feb. 22. Refreshments committee is Roger Hubright, Joan Young, Jack Hermanet and Jean Morrison.
