Just when you think we're getting closer to Spring, we get hit with more snow and ice! It can't last too much longer. (Though six weeks does seem like a long time.) Make Today Count Cancer Action Support group meets from 7- 8:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays at the Father Cavanaugh Parish Center behind the Church of the Epiphany on l05 West Main Street. Eileen Hooper, formerly of Sodus, has informed me that Florida was in the 70s this week. Enjoy it, Eileen. There's a Bridal Faire at Cinelli's this Sunday. Free registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; and the Fashion Show starts at noon. Plenty to see if you're planning for your coming nuptials. On those chilly wintry days its nice to relax with the kids and read. Here are some of our favorites. (Note: the Williamson Library will be closed Monday for Presidents Day.)
Congratulations to all who worked so hard to have Gates Hall in Pultneyville nominated to the National Register of Historic Places. The Sodus Town Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations for the Citizen of the Year Award. Mail your signed letter of nomination by March 1 to: Nomination Committee, Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 187, Sodus, NY 14551 And for the Williamson Outstanding Citizen, send your 100-word, signed nomination letter by tomorrow to: Rev. Brian Homan, PO Box 172, Williamson, NY 14589 Birthdays for this week: Happy Birthday Alice Clark on the 24th! Come prepared to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sodus Go Getters on Thursday, Feb. 24, for a dish-to-pass noon meal at the United Third Methodist Church. History will be shared, as will cake and ice cream. German foreign exchange student Dirk Siebert will present the program. All senior citizens 55-plus are invited.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send me the information about their events. It's fun to hear from all of you. If you haven't sent things in, it's never too late to share. Many times, people who lived in Sodus and have moved can still feel they are a part of your lives. Write to me at: Copyright © 2000 |
