Clothing & toy exchange on March 11 Community donations are needed for a clothing and toy exchange program March 11 at Lincoln Elementary School, N. Main St., Newark. In exchange for bringing one or more cans of food, Lincoln School parents may obtain clothing they need for themselves and their children, as well as toys and puzzles. (Lincoln has students kindergarten through second grade.) Principal Chris Mizro said the PTA is asking community residents to donate children and adult clothing that is in good condition, particularly winter attire, like jackets, boots, snow pants, sweaters, mittens and hats. "We are accepting clothing for all ages, but the focus is on kids," Mizro said. The principal said the PTA is also asking that donated toys be in good condition and puzzles have all the pieces with them. Donations may be made at the school office March 6-10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mizro said clothing, toys and puzzles that are left after the exchange will be given to the Salvation Army. All of the canned goods will be given to the Newark Food Closet. Sponsored by the Lincoln School Parent Teacher Association, the exchange will be held in the school gymnasium from 10 until noon on March 11. For more information, call the school at 332.3340.
