What a gorgeous week! See? Didn't I tell you Spring would be coming? Soon everyone will be playing outside and enjoying themselves. The cars will be parked along the road by rivers and creeks while people go fishing. (Yes, I realize that it isn't really spring yet... and there have been years where we've had snow on Mother's Day... but we're getting to a point when we can enjoy more nice days than bad.) Warmer temps during the day and, hopefully, no more bitter mornings waiting with the kids for the bus.

I received a phone call from Florida the other day. Doug and Eileen Hooper had been convinced by daughter, Susan, that it would be fun to go for a swim. The weather there was 85 degrees and they were getting into a heated pool. (?) 85-ish is nice, but I'll take the 54-60. Feels warm to us! (Eileen did you have fun?)

Since the weather is getting better, it'll be nice to take a walk to the Library and get out a few books. Sit out on the porch and read to each other. The Sodus Free Library has some new Award-winning books they'd like to share with you, including Joseph Had a Little Overcoat by Taback Simms (award winner for the most outstanding illustration.)

Since the coming of more Spring-like weather, it'll be easier to get out of the house. (No more severe cabin fever.) You can take a trip around Sodus to see if you can catch the display of the dollhouse being raffled by the Sodus Lioness Club. I hear it might be at the WCTA, or Sodus Country Hardware. Let me know.

The Williamson Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, March 1 at noon (American Legion). The entertainment will be provided by Williamson High kids who are in the coming production of The Music Man. Bring a dish to pass, your own table service and a drink.

And don't forget the Roast Beef supper at the Sodus Center Fire Hall tomorrow. They'll be serving from 5 p.m. until ?

Next month (it's just around the corner), the Cosmic Youth Group of the Sodus United Methodist Church will hold a Scalloped Potato and Ham Dinner. Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 18. The dinner will be 4-6:30 p.m. at the church.

March 18 is also the date of the Williamson Chamber of Commerce dinner at the Steger Haus. That's when they'll honor their Citizen of the Year.

dogsFor those of you who remember our Boxer Puppy Sarah (how cute and little she was): She is huge! (It must have been the Puppy Chow.) Now that she has gotten used to the snow and how much fun it is to eat, it has all disappeared. (She must wonder what happened. Maybe she thinks Caesar ate it all?)

Do you have a March Birthday coming up or know of someone who does? Please let me know. Melanie Pike will have one on March l0. Happy Birthday, Melanie.

Thanks to everyone who has kept in touch and hopefully I will be hearing from more of you. It's nice for people who live in the area, and it's also fun for those who have moved out of the area. It makes those who are Missing Sodus and feeling homesick, feel included. Write to me at

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great week and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
