BOCES offers home study programs The Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is starting off the year 2000 by offering adults many opportunities to change their careers and earn more money. Besides the many vocational classes for adults, such as nursing, network technician, or clerical skills, there are also many opportunities for adults to study in the comfort of their own homes. Such programs as high school equivalency, learning English, Citizenship or basic reading and math, can all be studied at home. Students receive a weekly telephone call from a teacher, as well as books and other materials. These home study programs are free to adults 21 years of age and older. Also, students may find out how ready they are to take the GED test by stopping in at any of the classes offered by BOCES and taking a Practice Test. For more information on how you can participate in any of these programs, call 1.800.527.1765. Copyright © 2000 |
