Happenings Go outside, whatever the weather. Bundle up if it's cold, take an umbrella for rain, or put on shorts for a sunny summer day. Look around you and take specific notice of five things of beauty created by God for you to enjoy. You may see mist over a pond, red tomatoes on a green vine, sparkles of white snow in the sun, your child's face. Whatever. Just take the time to notice. Beauty is there. The Girls Basketball Program is raising money so the athletes will be able to attend summer basketball camp. Two bottle drives are planned. February 5 and April 29. Mittens, scarves and hats can still be dropped off at the United Church to be donated to the Cameron Center. Elyse Bushart and Karissa DePoint presented the Ministry of Music, a vocal duet at the Second Reformed Church on Sunday, January 2. JANUARY 6, 1938: The PTA with the cooperation of the churches, Boy Scouts, merchants and canning factories, provided 15 families with food, clothing and toys for Christmas. Midlakes Tournament: Marion 68, Midlakes 52: Senior guard Steve Schutt scored nine of his 31 points and senior forward Merle Salisbury scored seven of his 17 points in the forth quarter to pace the Black Knights (1-2, 3-5).
