Burns Night celebration in Wolcott Come and see a unique blend of tradition and innovation at the 4th Annual Robert Burns Birthday Celebration, to be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Faith United Methodist Church, Oswego St., Wolcott. Sponsored by Seaway Studios - Arts & Cultural Center, this popular celebration of Scottish history and culture drew record crowds last year, and the eclectic mix of music, poetry, food and frolic prompted one person to state, "I like this much better than the usual Robbie Burns events!" (With luck, Robert Bums himself may show up.) Last year, a direct descendant of the celebrated Scottish poet (sharing the same name) appeared, dressed in full kilt and tartan. Listen for the skirl of the bagpipes, join the singing of traditional Scottish ballads, and let your heart swell to the universal appeal of the well-declaimed poetry of Robert Burns. Sample the many Scottish delicacies - shortbread, haggis, and "neeps," and share in the raffle of 10+ Scottish gift assortments - all imported! Attendance fees are $5 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, and $12 for a family of up to four people. For more information, contact Heather Conners at 315.594.2923.
