International Cooking classes in Wolcott Celebrate the diversity of foods from around the world. Beginning January 20, Seaway Studios - Arts & Cultural Center will be sponsoring a series of international cooking classes, ranging from Thai recipes and East Indian curries to Mexican and Native American cuisine. Participants will explore, prepare and taste foods of these and other countries. Individuals may sign up for one or multiple courses. Pre-registration is required, and all classes will be held at the North Rose-Wolcott Middle School on New Hartford St. in Wolcott - 6:30 p.m. Class Schedule - International Cooking Series : Jan. 20 Scotland Participants will make a variety of scones & shortbread. 'Cock-a-Leekie' will be demonstrated. Instructor: Heather Conners. Cost: $10. Feb. 3 Thailand A demonstration of Thai cooking. Participants will taste a variety of recipes. Instructors: Ron & Nancy Patrick. Cost: $10. Feb. 10 Germany Old World flavors. Instructor: Alice Sprout, Cost: $10. Feb. 17 International Cookies 'Fly by Night Cookies' owner will explore cookies from around the world. Instructor: Bonnie Bridson (Call 594.2923 for fee information). March 2 India Explore cooking with curry, chicken & shrimp. Instructor: Kim Borden. Cost: $10. March 9 Mexico Get a taste of 'South of the Border.' Instructor: Vicky Murphy. Cost: $10. March 16 Native American Participants will make fried bread. Traditional 'Corn Soup' will be demonstrated and recipe provided for modern day ingredients. Instructor: Lisa LaTulipe. Cost: $10.
