Hospice seeks volunteers in Wayne, Seneca Counties Volunteers are needed to assist patients with life-threatening illnesses and their families who are served by Hospice of Wayne and Seneca Counties. Hospice volunteers enhance the quality of life for patients at home and in a number of area nursing homes, according to Diana Becker, volunteer coordinator for Hospice. "For many who receive hospice care, volunteers provide a listening ear, a helpful hand and a caring heart," Becker explains. Hospice provides training and ongoing support to all volunteers. Each volunteer determines his/her own availability. "We welcome anyone who seeks an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of seriously ill people to come be a part of the Hospice team," Becker adds. The next training session for hospice volunteers will be offered in February, with the date and location to be set to accommodate those who wish to volunteer. For additional information, call Diana Becker at 315.331.7990. Hospice of Wayne and Seneca Counties is a service of Genesee Region Home Care, a not-for-profit certified home health agency and hospice with offices in Newark. GRHC and its Hospice service are recognized for quality patient care with Accreditation from the joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization. Copyright © 2000 |
