Another week of school and now we're all down with the flu. (I've almost forgotten what it's like to feel well.) Carol Garland just came back from a trip to sunny Florida and Walt Disney World. She was impressed by the 2000 celebration. Carol has had a nice period of reunion recently. Her daughter, Becky, came home from Africa for Christmas and her son, Mike and his wife Michelle, came to visit from Illinios. How nice! The Tuesday after Christmas, Carol, Jeff and Becky headed to Florida with friends to celebrate the Millennium. She said the fireworks were amazing and lit up the sky like daytime. There is a new group that has been formed called the Cats Community Action Team for Sodus. It's made up of parents and community members who are involved in improving things in their town. They have acquired the old Santelli Lumber Co. on Maple Ave. and together they painted and cleaned everything up. The group spent many long hours to get the project done. The Grand Opening will be January 22. Great job! See the difference working together can make? Don't forget the hot cakes and sausage breakfast to benefit the Timonthy L.Barber Memorial Scholarship Fund on Sunday, January 16.
While we've been camping out on the couch, we've been spending a lot of our waking hours reading. Here are some of our favorites for this week. There are many from other states who read the column. Keep us up to date on what your weather is like and what you remember from or miss about the Sodus area. Don't forget to keep in touch with all your events. Copyright © 2000 |
