Spay and neuter certificates available Have your pet spayed or neutered. The sixth anniversary of Spay Day USA, a national campaign to help reduce companion animal overpopulation, will take place on Tuesday, February 29. Created by the Doris Day Animal Foundation and sponsored by LitterMaid, more than 350,000 animals have been altered as a result of Spay Day USA since its interception in 1995. The Humane Society of Wayne County, in cooperation with area veterinarians and through local donations, will help promote Spay Day USA. On Feb. 29, HSWC staff will draw 40 names and provide the winners with a free spay/neuter certificate redeemable at veterinary clinics. Entries must be postmarked by February 25.
