Sodus group plans for spring

The Celebrate Sodus committee wants to give you plenty of time to plan the ultimate hanging basket for Spring. In its continuing effort to adorn the business district with flowers, the committee will offer a $100 prize at the end of the growing season to the creator and tender of the basket judged most beautiful. (...traditional, funky, or uniquely colorful...)

This spring, any business, organization or individual will be invited to fill one of more of the 20 hanging baskets with their own selected flowering plants. (Local discounts may be offered on annuals.) Throughout the season, participants will need to supplement the scheduled watering by the village crew with additional watering, feeding and pruning. The baskets are large, and daily watering using a ladder is necessary.

So, during these cold snow-covered months, envision a full, lucious flowering basket with greenery cascading down to touch the cars parked below. Watch for details in coming print publications.
