The Marion Central School District wishes these teachers a wonderful retirement: Jean Stoep, Sally DiTomaso, Anne Riley-Hill, Judy McKane, Bill Henrie, Chris Lannon, Joan Brandford, Donna Patrick, Helen Crane and Bill Tilling.

Bill and Nancy Bouwens, of Orange City, Florida visited with family members and friends for two weeks. While staying with their sister, Maude Finch, they attended the graduation of their granddaughter, Beth Bouwens of Bloomfield.

Ina Benton had as house guest for the past week, Terri Jo James, who is stationed at the Naval Air Force Base at Sauda Bay, Crete, Greece. Her father was a former Baptist minister in the area. And Ina's daughter, George and Jacqueline Reed of Fairfax, Virginia spent the weekend with her. All attended the graduation of their grandchild, Luke LeRoy.

JULY 7, 1917: J. Smith Atwood gave a rabbit dinner to the Wayne County Sheriff, Bert Valentine, and his deputies.

'The will to win is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win.'

Stan and Isabelle Bushart enjoyed some time at the Finger Lakes Model Steamtrain Festival in Marengo, where they were joined by Ruth and Ted Townson and family, and Jeremy and Jessica Leno and daughter. Adults and children enjoyed rides on the small trains. Later they all returned to the Townson home to celebrate grandson Teddy's third birthday, with cake and gifts.
