Poker Run this Sunday
Proceeds will help buy school desks

The first annual Poker Run for St. Michael School in Newark will be held Sunday, July 16. Registration will be between 10:30 a.m. and noon that day at BeeTee's, on Route 31 East in Newark.

A donation of $10 per person is asked for those who wish to draw cards. There will be a cash prize for the winning hand, to be determined at registration, plus other prizes. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. The motorcycle run will be approximately 60 miles throughout Wayne County with 5 checking points.

BeeTee's will donate free ice cream for all registrants. St. Michael School parents will sell hot dogs and soda at the end of the run. All profits will go toward new student desks. Each desk and chair costs around $125.

For more information on the Poker Run or to donate toward new student desks, call Cecilia Ruffalo, chairperson of the event at 331.2467.
