Ice cream social and concert Sunday

Face it, we all scream for ice cream on these hot days. Give into the craving on July 23, when the Sodus Point Light House Museum, 7606 Ontario St., Sodus Point, serves up their annual Ice Cream Social.

The fun begins at 1 p.m. with the music of Fiddlesticks. Savor some old-fashioned, clown-home fiddle music with beautiful Lake Ontario as a backdrop. At 1:30 p.m. volunteers from the Sodus Bay Historical Society, under the direction of co-chairs Shirley and Glen Stell and Helen and Pete Blandino, will begin dishing up luscious ice cream sundaes. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream, along with chocolate, strawberry arid butterscotch toppings will be served for a nominal fee until 4:30 or until supplies run out. Proceeds benefit the Museum.

Mello saxophone jazz completes this lazy afternoon when Nostalgic Reunion performs at 3 p.m. All activities are free and the Light House Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Boating fans will want to get there early to put a bid in on the Silent Boat Auction. For details contact the Sodus Bay Light House Museum at 483.4936.
