Over 60 people gathered outside the Wayne County courthouse this morning, to voice their opposition to a new NYS Thruway exit for Phelps/Newark.
The Genesee Transportation Council, Metropolitan Planning Organization, had a regularly scheduled meeting set for 10 a.m.
The proposal for a new interchange was progressing quietly until a public hearing in Phelps. It was then that a groundswell of opposition began and spread into Newark.
Those in attendance this morning include (some pictured) former Arcadia Supervisor Orville Martin, Newark resident Ange DeJohn, Hannelora and Helmuth Reinhardt, Barb Mater, and Gordon Dusharm. |
