Sodus Point Association plans events

New officers of the Sodus Point Community Association are President Doris Burger; Vice President Vicky Trimble; Secretary Kathy Plantz and Treasurer Jackie Hylton. They have pledged to continue the task of raising money to upgrade the playground equipment at Willow Park. To date, $8000 of a $15,000 goal has been raised. The organization has applied to be a not-for-profit corporation which will enable the group to apply for a matching grant.

The association held a garage sale in June. On Saturday, August 5 a Farmers Market in the park (near the information booth) will be held with crafts, baked goods and flea market items.

The Association is planning a Dinner Dance/Fundraiser to be held September 30 at the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club. Highlights of the evening will be a 2 hour open bar, a surf and turf dinner, 43 cash prizes totaling $9000, beautiful gift baskets and 50-50 raffles, and dancing to the music of popular local band, The Cobblerockers.

The Association is looking for volunteers to work on these community projects. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at Pier Pointe East Marina. For more information about how you can help, please call Gloria Tomassi at 483.2383.
