DeMay reunion held in Farmington

The 74th DeMay Reunion way held at the Farmington Town Park on July 30, by several descendants of Isaac and Cynthia DeHond DeMay.

Family historian Mrs. Gerry McChery of Shortsville reports that there are 249 directed and extended members in the family tree.

A potluck meal was enjoyed by all, followed by a business meeting conducted by President Cheryl Smith of Palmyra.

President Eunice Reynolds of Palmyra will be in charge of the 2001 gathering. Joan Kutniewski of Bloomfield was elected Vice President and Dorothy DeMay of Newark re-elected secretary/treasurer.

Thirty-two members were present from 17 families. Edith Deys of Palmyra and George DeMay of Newark were the oldest direct descendants attending with Jacob Deys of Walworth the youngest.

Though only local members were present this year, Cheryl Smith reports that members are scattered from the East Coast to the West coast. One family member will soon be relocating to New Caledonia in the Pacific Ocean.
