Sodus students visit Lyons

Nearly 1000 fourth graders will have toured the Wayne County Historical Society Museum by the time school closes for summer recess.

Students from Sodus recently toured and learned about the part Wayne County soldiers played in the Civil War.

Sgt. Martens, Corporal Chris McLellan, Nurse Dawn Jendrick and Capt. Frank VanVerlou - all Civil War re-enactors - will be at the Arcadia Museum (High Street in Newark) on June 10 from 10 to 5, and June 11 from noon to 4 during the Newarkfest celebration..
