Gananda teen is County Fair Queen

Lauren Seuffert, 16, a junior at Gananda Central School was chosen as the 2000 Wayne County Fair Queen. At Marion High School, she competed with 14 other contestants, ages 15-17, for the crown. She is the daughter of Colleen and Ray Seuffert of Walworth. Lauren is a member of National Honor Society, Student Congress, Model United Nations, Peer Mediation, Foreign Language Club and Amnesty International. Future plans are to attend college and a career in teaching.

The queens are pictured: Jessica Bryant, Nicole Fox, Queen Lauren Seuffert, Cassandra Wilson.

Chosen as first runner-up was Nicole Fox, 17 is the daughter of Sue and Earl Fox Jr. of Palmyra. Nicole is a junior at Pal-Mac.

Second runner-up is Jessica Bryant, 16, a sophomore at Newark High School, the daughter of Karen and Russ Watson.

Harmony Hitchner of Ontario is third runner-up. The daughter of Melody Hitchner and Bill Cornwell and is a sophomore at Wayne Central.

County Princess: Hannah Joy Lawliss, an 8th grader at Marion Central, was chosen County Fair Princess. She competed with 14 other contestants between the ages of 12-14. Hannah, 13, is the daughter Lisa and Barry Lawliss. She is a member of her church youth group, Marion's Traveling Soccer Club and plays in the orchestra. She enjoys playing flute and piano.

The Princess and Court are pictured: Lindsey Allen, Christina Bennett, Princess Hannah Joy Lawliss and Elizabeth Moll.

First runner-up princess is Elizabeth Moll, 14, of Webster. Elizabeth is a freshman at R.L. Thomas Middle School and the daughter of Pamela and Thomas Moll. Lindsey Allen, 13, of Macedon is second runner-up. An 8th grader at Gananda Central School, Lindsey is the daughter of Joan and Doug Allen.

Third runner-up is Christina Bennett, 14 of Macedon, an 8th grader at Pal-Mac Middle School. Her parents are Helen and Mike Bennett.

Chosen as Miss Congeniality was Cassandre Lynn Wilson, a senior at Wayne Central. Cassandre, 17, of Macedon is the daughter of Linda and Robert Wilson.

Ginny Ryan from WOKR Channel 13 was the emcee for the pageant. Senior Bobbie Anne Abson of Palmyra was the commentator, Amy Bantle of Marion was the pianist, and dancers from the Sandy Stramonine School of Dance were the entertainment.

All contestants received training on interviewing, public speaking and modeling. Area businesses donated gifts and gift certificates to the contestants and winners. The Queen and Princess and Courts will reign over the County Fair, August 14-19 in Palmyra.
