Local businesses entered a total of six beds. Refractron's entry won first place; Wendy's Restaurant was named most unique; Refractron had the funniest bed; WCTA Newark was the slowest bed. On hand to judge the event were former Newark Mayor Susie Earl and Fr. Peter DeBellis. WCTA had two entries, and others were from Wegmans and Kelly Services. The participants hung clothes on a line and had other tasks to complete on their journey down South Main Street.
