Pioneer Gas Engine Show planned

Planning for the 36th Annual Pioneer Gas Engine Association is under way!

The slate of officers, including President Mark Love of Canandaigua, Vice President Larry Frey, Secretary Lynnette Lake and Treasurer Richard Vanderbrook, both of Marion, and the Association's directors, Bill Graves, Gary Love, and Merle Love of Canandaigua, Jim Muyle of Palmyra, and Chris Salerno, Tom Weis, Dick Simmons, and Dave Sherns, all of Marion, have been busy finalizing and approving plans for this year's show.

The Show will take place at The Town Park, in the Town of Marion, off Main Street. (Main Street runs off from Route 21 in Wayne County). Show dates are Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30. Admission is $2 per person, and children under 12 are free.

The Pioneer Gas Engine Association's annual show is a way for members, new and old, to showcase their wonderful collections of Antique gas engines, tractors, and many other farming and industrial implements from yesteryear.

There will be demonstrations of wheat threshing, stone crushing, a blacksmith, and tinsmith. On Saturday Morning at 11 a.m., there will be a children's pedal tractor pull, and all children in attendance are welcome to participate. Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. there is the Town Parade of all movable equipment at the show. (In recent years, this has been most impressive!!)

The antique tractor pulls will be taking place at 6 p.m. on Friday evening and at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Flea markets will be open all weekend, and if you are interested in participating as a vendor, please call Director Dick Simmons at 315.926.4427.

If you are interested in displaying at the show, or have any questions, call President Mark Love at 716.394.8514.
