Plans for the Annual Alloway Picnic

The residents and friends of Alloway have traditionally gathered in July for a community picnic for more than 75 years.

The Year 2000 event will be held on Sunday, July 9 at 1 p.m. at the home of Amelia Engels. Look for the picnic sign as you travel south on Route 14 out of Lyons to Alloway, a distance of two miles.

Attendees are requested to bring a dish to pass, a can of lemonade concentrate, and a lawn chair. (Actually, the lawn chair is optional). A program following the meal will feature the crowning of the Peppermint King and Queen as well as the Alloway Princess.

Entertainment will be provided by Tim Morrell and his father, Eugene.
