Happenings Frank and Betty Baker spent Father's Day at the home of their daughter, Paul and Jody Bender and grandson, Dave. JULY 6, 1912: O.H. Westfall is now operating the steam roller on the State Road being built in this town. The contractors are anxious to hasten the work as they have a contract to build six miles of road out of Geneva when this is completed. Congratulations to Paul and Victoria Kearns on the birth of Reilly Sean Lawrence Kearns, born on June 14 in Greensboro, NC. Happy grandparents are Sue and Ed Phillips, Paul and Jody Bender, Shawn and Amy Kearns, and great-grandmother Carol Kearns, Frank and Betty Baker, and Hazel Wahl. Group workcampers, from the United Church, will be at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation from July 16-22. They are Dan and Crystal Halstead, Deb Halstead, and Leighton Wiant. Howard Dahlberg is recovering at home following back surgery. On Father's Day, Stuart Mitchell was welcomed at the United Church where he preached the sermon. He also baptized his granddaughter, Kristina Rose, daughter of Stuart and Dawn DeLue Mitchell. Did you know you could be your own weatherperson? Also, when it rains and the water in the puddle bubbles, it means more rain is coming tomorrow! Hilda DeLue was greeted by callers from Rochester last Monday. Visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hughes, Clara DeYoung and Anne DeYoung. A nice visit on a nice day.
