'Fiddler' at NHS opens March 10

With music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick 'Fiddler On The Roof' is one of America's classic Broadway Musical Theatre shows.

Andrew Sloane and Colleen HallaganBased on the stories of 'Tevye's Daughters' by Yiddish author Sholem Aleichem, it is a heartwarming tale of cultural traditions and family values in Czarist Russia in 1904. With songs such as Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Sunrise Sunset and Anetevka the show garnished several Tony awards (including Best Musical) and changed the standards of American musical Theatre.

The Newark show is directed by Damian Koviak, with musical direction by Jean Bendix and choreography by Pam Bryan. The cast features 40 students in grades 9-12. (Pictured are Andrew Sloane and Colleen Hallagan.)

Performances are March 10 and 11 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and $4 advance, $6 at the door. All seats are reserved.
