Pete Fagner, Keith Battle, Dave Mackey Fairville Dept. dinner held in Lyons

More than 115 Fairville volunteer firefighters, spouses and honored guests gathered at the Lyons VFW on Route 14 for fun and fellowship last Saturday night.

Lacey Harris, Wayne County Fire Instructor, was the emcee for the event and introduced visiting chiefs and political officials. Special guests were Ida Israel, Doris Orbaker, and Alice Wigent.

The popular Bloopers and Blunders awards went to several volunteers for humorous incidents during the year. 'Winners' for 1999 were: Carl Tack, Kim Wood, Steve Weimer, Ken Grass, Teresa Cummings, Jackie Dishaw, Bill Liddle, Ike Willemsen, Ed DeWolf, and Peg Peliter. Super Hero awards were given to Bill Wood and Frank Orbaker.
