On March 24, Mark Wyman, John Lonneville, Bruce Cramer and Bob Chatterson went to the University of Syracuse Dome to watch the NCAA finals, and they returned on March 26 to watch them again. Thank you, John, for driving. Everyone had fun.

The fourth-grade band concert is set for April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the elementary school.

Senior high bands spring concert - Thursday, April 6 at 7:30.

Vivian Voorhees is recuperating from recent surgery.

Kevin and Denise Switzer presented their son, Jonathan Dylan for baptism at United Church on March 19. He was born on February 25.

Congratulations to Howard and Svea Dahlberg on the occasion of their recent 53rd wedding anniversary.

THANKS! to all who enjoyed the Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the United Church. Proceeds will help many needy people.

The ceramic tomb scene located on the table in the front of the United Church sanctuary was made by Arloa and Becky Beadle.

The Canaltown Chorale will present its spring concert on Saturday April 1 at 7 p.m. in the Western Presbyterian Church in Palmyra.

A welcome home to Nellie DeWispelaere who is back from sunny Florida.

Pam Wolfanger reports seeing nine wild turkeys in her back yard recently.

Congratulations to David and Kim Laird on the birth of Breana Marie on March 20. She weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. Congratulations to grandparents Tim and Shirley Leno and to great-grandparents, Don and Marie Leno.

Spring projects at the Second Reformed Church, on Mill Street, include the painting of the gym in the Educational Building and painting the sanctuary a soft white.

SPECIAL THANKS go to Harold and Eleanor Schoonerman and to the senior PRO-GOVERNMENT class of Mr. Christie for their participation in the Daffodil Drive for the American Cancer Society.

There will be an American Red Cross BLOOD DRIVE on April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. held in the Marion High School auditorium. Walk-ins are welcome!

The Leaning Barn, on North Main Street, will reopen for the season on April 1. Diane's shop in an old 1890s barn is filled to the rafters with goodies old and new! (Yes, it really leans.)

APRIL 1, 1911: At the meeting of the Presbyterian Church on Tuesday the plan submitted by an architect from Los Angeles was accepted. Specifications call for a $9000 edifice. The old church was sold to Jacob Leroy, who will move it and use it as a blacksmith shop.
