Savannah Alumni plan banquet

The 109th banquet of the Savannah High School Alumni Association will be held Saturday, June 3 at John's Restaurant in Clyde.

The association has met annually since 1891. Helen Harris of Lyons is the oldest surviving alumnus, graduating in 1928. Last year, 90 people gathered to celebrate and to renew old acquaintances.

Kenneth Reed, Class of '39, received the Alumni Graduate Award for his community and church service work, both in Savannah and in other States. Recognition was given to his century-owned farm, which was purchased in 1890, and has remained in the family for three generations. Burt Taber, President of the Savannah Bank NA, received the Non Alumnus Award for individual and community service in Savannah.

An invitation is extended to any person who attended the school prior to its closing in 1970, and to anyone who taught at the school, to attend the banquet.

Reservations may be made by calling Levona Marriott Urwin at 365.3344.
