Broach wins Army medal

Army Capt. Thomas T. Broach has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal.

The medal is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by outstanding non-combat meritorious achievement or service to the United States.

Broach, a company commander, is assigned to the 225th Forward Support Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii.

He is the son of Vada Broach of Rice St., Lyons.

The 1988 Lyons H.S. graduate earned a bachelor's degree from Oswego State University in 1992.
