Newark school budget approved

Voters approved a $34,679,207 school budget and a $380,326 bus purchase by a large margin yesterday.

David Honness, Louis Jasper, and newcomer John Strait were elected to three-year terms on the Board of Education. Losing his seat was board President David Howard, who came in fourth, followed by Mary Moseley, a former board member.

The unofficial count including absentee ballots.

Budget: 866 Yes, 377 No

Busses: 747 Yes, 265 No
