MAY 17, 1913: A sum of $4450 was appropriated for the regular support of the school at the recent annual meeting and $200 for the purpose of employing a music teacher.

ARTS ALIVE will be presented on May 25 at the Elementary School. The Art show will be in the auditorium, art room and halls from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Fifth and Sixth Grade Chorus will perform in the auditorium at 7:30, singing a variety of. styles of songs including some folk songs, a canon, a rock song, and some novelty songs.

The 110-member chorus is under the direction of Phyllis Stock with Linda Bush accompanying on the piano. Come and enjoy an evening of art and music.

May 20-21 is the Williamson Apple Blossom Festival. Downtown Williamson. Street dance, fireworks, carnival, parade, craft show and family entertainment. Fun for the whole family!

Walk for Health is May 20, along the Erie Canal. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Pal-Mac Medical Center in the Macedon plaza. Monies go towards your choice of care departments at the Clifton Springs Hospital. For more information call 462.0324.

The English Department at the Marion High School, is offering 9th, 10th, 11th, and l2th grade students the opportunity to attend the Stratford Festival in Ontario, Canada on May 22. They will attend a 2 p.m. showing of William Shakespeare's As You Like It. 40 spots are reserved for each grade level.

Library Friends have planned fundraisers: A Giant Tupperware Sale on May 19 and 20, at the Marion Public Library during library hours. And their annual Spring Book and More Sale on June 9 at the Fellowship Hall at the United Church from 9 to 5. They need empty shoe boxes.

The Ministry of Music, at the Second Reformed Church on Mother's Day, was presented by the Junior Choir under the direction of Sherry Reiss.

Jeannette Stubenrod has returned to her Williamson Road home following surgery. Ed Stevens has returned to his home after a stay at the Newark Hospital.

The American Baptist Women's Spring Meeting will be held on May 20 at the Second Baptist Church in Walworth. The main speaker will be the Rev. Pearl Cunningham, who will report on her prison ministry.

Don't miss the chicken and Biscuit Dinner on May 22 at the United Church. This dinner is being sponsored by the Missions Committee of this church. Profits from the dinner will be used to help fund the summer Workcamp project at Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota. Those involved are Dan, Crystal and Deb Halstead and Leighton Wiant. Any other adults who are interested may contact Rev Dan or Leighton Wiant.

On May 21, there will be a Teacher Appreciation program and brunch following the morning worship service at the United Church. This brunch offers an opportunity to show appreciation for the commitment of Church School superintendents, teachers, and helpers.

The Rev. Stuart Mitchell was welcomed as guest pastor at the United Church on May 14. Dr. J. Elmore Jones was guest organist at the service.

Johanna Williams has returned home from the Newark Hospital.

Stephen and Anne Richardson Hussey were united in marriage on April 29 in Winchester, Virginia.

Bunny Sewert, Matron of the Richards Chapter 558 of the OES, announces a garage sale which will be held on May 25-26 at 3615 Palmyra Road, Marion, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
